The EE-ISAC Threat Intelligence Task Force Forum convened in Brussels for its physical meeting co-chaired by Gustav Hofgren (Ørsted) and Massimo Rocca (ENEL). The Forum brought together utility operators, cybersecurity experts, and European stakeholders to exchange views on the evolving cyber threat landscape impacting the energy sector.
Focus on operational impact
The meeting focused on strengthening the link between threat intelligence and operational response, ensuring that insights are translated into actionable measures for critical infrastructure operators.
Evolving cyber threat landscape
Discussions highlighted increasingly sophisticated multi-stage cyber campaigns targeting energy systems, alongside the growing role of AI in enabling more scalable and targeted attacks, particularly in phishing and malware development.
Supply chain and regulatory alignment
Supply chain security and regulatory alignment were also key themes, with emphasis on improving visibility over third-party access and response capabilities. ENISA also provided an update on the upcoming Sectoral Energy Threat Landscape under the NIS2 framework.
