Joint Cybersecurity Energy Forum: “Securing the grid: cyber threats, challenges and actions in a connected world”

30 October 2025 | Brussels, Belgium

We are pleased to share the insights and enriching discussion taking place during the 8th edition of the Cybersecurity Forum, at the Stanhope Hotel (Brussels) on October 30, 2025, from 09:30 to 16:00 CET. This high-level event was jointly organised by the Association of European Distribution System Operators (E.DSO), the European Energy – Information Sharing & Analysis Centre (EE-ISAC), the European Network for Cyber Security (ENCS), and the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA).

In this edition, the event was guided by our Secretary General Aurelio Blanquet as the master of ceremony. Also, Board Member Thomas Krauhausen (E.ON) participated as speaker in Panel Discussion I, where he emphasized integrated digital & physical security, risk-based regulations, and proactive supplier collaboration. Thomas also shared E.ON’s approach to database-focused risk assessments and uncovering previously unknown vulnerabilities.

The event also counted with our Board Member Nuno Medeiros (E-REDES) , as the moderator for Panel Discussion II: “From Standards to Security: Managing Risk Across the Grid and New Technologies” from 14:30 to 15:50

🔐 Strengthening Europe’s Energy Cybersecurity

As geopolitical tensions escalate and the digitalisation of the energy sector continues to deepen, the need to secure Europe’s critical energy infrastructure has never been more pressing. The 2025 Cybersecurity Forum brought together leading experts, policymakers, utilities, and technology providers from across the energy and cybersecurity ecosystems.

Together, we explored how Europe can:
⟶ Accelerate the implementation of new cybersecurity regulations
⟶ Strengthen public-private cooperation
⟶ Address vulnerabilities in increasingly complex and interconnected supply chains
⟶ Support critical investments in secure operational technologies
⟶ Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing across borders and sectors

🎤 Great impact on media: EE-ISAC as one of the key voices in the European energy cybersecurity conversation

The joint event generated strong media interest and visibility across the cybersecurity and energy resilience sectors. Following the dissemination of a joint press release, the story was featured in Cybernews, a globally recognised technology and cybersecurity publication with over 3.8 million monthly readers. The article ranked on the first page of Google News for the search term “grid cybersecurity”, highlighting the relevance of the topic and positioning the partners at the forefront of the European discussion on energy resilience and grid protection.

Additional coverage was secured in Source Security and Security Informed, two trusted trade outlets reaching security professionals and technology leaders across Europe. This media attention reflects the growing importance of cross-sector collaboration on energy cybersecurity and underscores EE-ISAC’s role in fostering dialogue and sharing expertise among key stakeholders.

🎉 A Milestone in EE-ISAC’s 10th Anniversary Year

This year’s forum also marked a key milestone in the 10th anniversary of EE-ISAC. As part of the celebrations, we hosted the 26th EE-ISAC Plenary Meeting on October 29, 2025, the day before the joint forum. This exclusive gathering of members and invited stakeholders focused on strategic cyber threat intelligence, regulatory updates, and collective preparedness.

Later in the year, on November 18-20, the EE-ISAC will also be present at Enlit Europe 2025 in Bilbao, Spain. Visit us at stand 5.E94 to learn more about our collaborative initiatives and explore new opportunities to strengthen cybersecurity in the energy sector.
