EE-ISAC 26th Plenary: Celebrating 10 years of cybersecurity collaboration!

On 29 October 2025, EE-ISAC successfully hosted its 26th Plenary in Brussels, marking a major milestone — 10 years of empowering the European energy sector through collective cybersecurity knowledge, trusted partnerships, and shared resilience.
Members-Only Session: Community Growth and Strategic Updates
The day began with the members-only session, where the community reflected on the association’s achievements and strategic progress throughout 2025.
Key highlights included:
✅ Review of 2025 activities and milestones
✅ Presentation of the financial overview
✅ Updates from EE-ISAC’s six active Task Forces
✅ Official welcome to four new members: Eneco, ENEFIT, Enexis, and Gemini Wind Park 👏
The session also featured the announcement of the new Board of Directors. While maintaining the same dedicated leadership team, EE-ISAC was pleased to welcome Stephan Engel (Siemens) as a new board member. The community expressed its gratitude to Jalal Bouhdada for his valuable contributions and commitment over the past years as he stepped down from the Board 🙏.



Open Session: Insights, Collaboration, and Future-Oriented Dialogue
The open plenary session, held in the afternoon, brought together members, partners, and stakeholders from across Europe to exchange expertise and discuss current and emerging challenges shaping the energy cybersecurity landscape.

🔹 Panel on Threat Intelligence: The Impact of AI on Digitalization in the Energy Sector — Swantje Westpfahl (ISS), Ilias Bakatsis (ENISA), and “Solar PV Research and Hacktivists Attacks” by Daniel dos Santos (Forescout)
🔹 What’s Next for AI-Based Cybersecurity of Power Systems? — Grigore Stamatescu (University of Bucharest)
🔹 Global ISACs Threat Outlook — JE-ISAC and E-ISAC
🔹 Panel on Risk: Securing the Energy Supply Chain — Nuno Medeiros (E-REDES) and Tania Wallis (NESO)
The discussions reinforced the importance of cross-sector collaboration, intelligence sharing, and strategic dialogue to enhance cyber resilience across Europe’s energy systems.






Celebrating a Decade of EE-ISAC
The plenary concluded with a networking dinner, where participants — including former Board Members and founding partners — gathered to celebrate a decade of EE-ISAC collaboration.
It was an inspiring moment to reflect on how far the community has come and to look ahead to the challenges and opportunities shaping the next decade of cyber defence in the European energy landscape.
