Participating in major global dialogues on energy security and regulation, the European Energy Information Sharing & Analysis Centre (EE-ISAC) will take part in the IX World Forum on Energy Regulation (WFER), held from September 21–24, 2026, in Tbilisi, Georgia.
As a premier global event held once every three years, WFER 2026 brings together the world’s leading energy regulators, policymakers, and industry experts. Representing the association, EE-ISAC Board Member Nuno Medeiros (E-REDES) has accepted an invitation to lead a critical dialogue on the intersection of security and grid stability.
Strengthening the Shield: Cybersecurity and Reliability
Nuno will contribute as a featured speaker on the panel: “Cybersecurity and Reliability Threats: Resilience and Coordination in Energy Infrastructure.” In an era where nation-state actors and hybrid threats increasingly target critical assets, this session provides a vital platform to share the European energy sector’s operational experiences.
The panel will bring together leading experts from government, industry, and academia to address:
🔹 Grid-Impacting Events: Analyzing lessons learned to prevent future disruptions.
🔹 Threat Information Sharing: Optimizing the speed and trust of intelligence exchange.
🔹 Reliability and Security Standards: Developing robust frameworks for future-proof infrastructure.
A Strategic Platform for European Interests
Beyond its panel contribution, the association will leverage WFER 2026 as a strategic opportunity to strengthen cooperation with international regulatory bodies. Central to this mission is a planned engagement with ACER (European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators) to discuss the implementation of the Network Code on Cybersecurity (NCCS).
Through this dialogue, the organisation will further clarify its role in supporting these emerging regulatory frameworks while reinforcing its commitment to translating policy into operational resilience for its members.
Fostering Transatlantic Synergy
The invitation, extended via our partners at NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) and the E-ISAC (Electricity Information Sharing and Analysis Center), underscores the global importance of the EE-ISAC’s mission. In Tbilisi, the association will explore further synergies in threat-sharing frameworks with our North American peers, reinforcing a “network of trust” that spans the continent and the globe.
